I have two dogs that participate in groups twice per week. They come home exhausted and happy after a session with Jill and the rest of the pack. Jill is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to animal behavior and I trust her infinitely with my “babies.” The best part is that she picks them up and drops them off which allows me to work all day without worrying. I will never consider sending Buster and Nola anywhere else!

My name is Lisa, and my boxer Lilly is almost 6 years old. She had been going to play group with dog peace for about a year now. I love the fact that she is getting out and interacting with other dogs. She gets very excited when that big white van pulls up in front of the house. Lilly seems happier now that she has buddies.
Thank you Dog Peace!

We have sent our 1 year old chocolate lab, Gracie, to DogPeace play groups for the last 9 mos. Not only is the pick/up-drop/off service exceptional, Grace comes home excited, yet tuckered-out. In addition to puppy socializing skills, DogPeace also offers useful suggestions on everything from training, to feeding to allergies and puppy quirks. Because of our experiences with DogPeace, we are not fearful when Gracie meets other, unknown dogs. We know that she knows how to play!

Jill & Dave at Dog Peace has been taking care of Guinness, my 13.5 year old Shepherd Mix, on and off for over ten years. Jill and Dave are dependable, caring and enthusiastic. I often need to contact them last minute with schedule changes and they are always accommodating. Having Guinness participate in Playgroup allows her to socialize with other dogs while getting exercise which keeps her lean and healthy. I have peace of mind when I am away from Hull because I know Guinness is getting the best possible care. I am comfortable recommending the services of Dog Peace and specifically Playgroup to anyone who loves their dog!

Jill and Dave have been taking care of my 8 1/2 year old Lab Cooper for about 3 1/2 years. Dogpeace is a unique type of dog care in that Cooper gets out of the house for a ride in the van, playtime with friends and an all around change of scenery. Cooper used to go to an all day doggie daycare but it just became too long of day for him as he got older. Dogpeace is the perfect balance of activity and stimulation for Cooper. He loves to see Jill and Dave and is always happy and content from a fun day at playgroup when I get home from work. I always know he is in good hands and I never have to worry about him when he is in their care.

"We have been using Dog Peace for 1.5 years and couldn't be happier with the care and expertise we have received. Some people say they
love dogs, but Jill and Dave take it to a whole new level, they absolutely LOVE dogs and it's clear in the way that they treat our
dog, Clipper. Clipper, a lab/hound mix, is just about 2 years old and is high energy. Dog Peace provides him with a great outlet to burn off
some steam while learning doggie manners. We know that while we are at work he is receiving the best care out there with his extended family
instead of staying home lonely by himself. If you are looking for a convenient, reliable, and fun experience, Dog Peace is for you."

I have a yellow lab named Annie. She is 3 and 1/2 years old and has been with Dogpeace for about 3 years. She is a happy, healthy, and well adjusted dog. When she gets picked up she bolts out the door and does not even look back at me, because she is so happy to see her friends. They offer a unique service for working people. They are always reliable and trustworthy, and understand dog behavior. They never cancel and are always open to changes, if necessary. I would highly recommend Dogpeace.

I have been a client with Dog Peace for 10 years. My 10 year old Chocolate Lab Buddy attends playgroup a few days a week and is anxiously waiting for his pickup on those days. Playgroup gives him the exercise and socialization that every lab needs no matter what their age is. Jill and Dave are very professional and are dedicated to ensuring that the dogs get cared for and have fun during their playtime. Dog Peace will continue to be a part of my life as long as I have a canine companion (which will be forever).

My name is Norah Louise and my younger (bigger, dumber) sister Tess and I go to Dog Peace twice a week. If we had our way, we would go every day, but our mother says we would need to get jobs first. Although my mother says I am the most beautiful dog in America today (she may be a bit biased), at just over 1 and 2 years old, the fact is we are a handful. Not to mention a pair of escape artists. When Jill comes to pick us up, we could not be more excited. We jump into the van and never even turn around to say goodbye to Mom (who?). We think every dog would love going to Dog Peace, although we would prefer they don’t since we need to make sure we get the most attention. Or rather that I do. Tess can fend for herself. Brat.My Mom worked from home for 2 years before she retired last year, and I really hate when she leaves the house. Being a beagle, I let her know. When Tess and I are at Dog Peace, she gets some peace and quiet and can do errands, meet friends, and all that human stuff. While we have FUN.
If you bring your dog to Dog Peace, you may see me. You’ll recognize me when you see how beautiful I am.

I used to hate to see people who treated their dogs as if they were their babies but....Lucky is my baby. All my children are grown and she is the cutest, sweetest dog you could imagine. When we rescued her, she had fear and anxiety issues and leaving her alone in the house all day was a recipe for a vet visit. I learned about Dog Peace from a neighbor who had a puppy she was sending to the playgroup. Since Lucky and Max were so good together, I called. I was nervous that Lucky would not pass the interview as she wasn't always good with other people and dogs but Jill handled her expertly.
So, for the last four years without exception, Dog Peace comes to our house, picks up our "baby," takes her for a ride in the van to playgroup where she socializes and exercises, gives her another ride in the van and back home in time to greet me coming home from work. She's a happier dog. We're happier dog owners.

Jill and Dave Orpen, owners of Dog Peace, have been caring for my dogs since I moved to Hull 10 years ago. Over the years they have been a second parent, caregiver, and friend to my "children" providing playgroup service 5 days/week. Rusty, who passed last summer lived to be nearly 15 and attended playgroup faithfully until 2 days prior to his passing. Emma, who will be 17 in November, still attends playgroup 5 days a week, though Dave and Jill do now have to carry her from the house to the van and/or help her stretch her arthritic joints to help her get up and go! Buster, who joined us last year, is 10 years old and has been attending playgroup since the first week he arrived. Despite also being a bit older and arthritic, he greets Dave and Jill with an excited bark and wagging tail and enthusiastically jumps into the van to greet all of his friends!
My long work days in the city have been made easier knowing that my children are under the caring and skilled eyes of Jill and Dave. I have received countless texts, emails, calls alerting me about a new limp or change in behavior, or to share wonderful pictures of my pups clearly enjoying their playgroup time. I know my children owe their longevity in large part to the care and companionship they have enjoyed during their playgroups!
I came to Hull to fulfill a dream of living on the ocean. I have never looked back. I love everything about this community, including the wonderful friends I met 10 years ago when the realtor suggested I call Dog Peace when I was looking for someone who would adore and treasure my pets as much as I do. He was right.
With love and gratitude,
Sherry, Rusty, Emma and Buster
Mistral is a large mixed breed, 13 year old female who has been part of the Dogpeace family since she was a 6 month old puppy. Our family was initially attracted to Dogpeace because of the really cool name and when we met with Jill, the company's owner, we knew this was the place for our raucous untrained pup. Through Dogpeace's well organized and professionally surpervised playgroups, Mistral has developed from a puppy full of exuberant energy to a happy, well exercised and socialized dog. Dogpeace playgroup has helped socialize Mistral to dogs of all breeds and sizes and has taught her good manners.
Over the past decade, Dogpeace has provided our family with peace of mind knowing that during the day while we're at work, Mistral is well taken care of and enjoying time running and playing with other dogs her size. Our family has only the highest praise for Dogpeace and for Jill and Dave who over the years have cared for Mistral like she is part of their family. As a senior dog, Mistral is still enjoying playgroups and our family feels at peace knowing that as Mistral has slowed down and her needs have changed, her Dogpeace family continues to attend to her needs and takes great care to ensure that she is not overworked or hurt while still enjoying time hanging with her Dogpeace doggie friends. Mistra'sl notable excitement when she hears the Dogpeace van pulling up only confirms that like us, our old pup is singing Dogpeace praises!

We've been sending Hazel to playgroup for at least six years now. She loves hanging out with her buddies and even volunteers for Dogpeace on the occasional weekend to screen new pups for playgroup!

Dog Peace offers an innovative solution to working families to provide an opportunity for their dogs to get out of the house, interact with others dogs, do their “business” and return home ready to sleep!!! An invaluable service to anyone who owns a dog that needs a daily outing and doggie socialization!

We have been with Dog Peace since its inception. Barnabas thought of PG as his own little Shangri-la. fun, fun, fun. Our rescue Baylie is becoming more socialized and barking much less often thanks to Jill.
We trust that our dogs are loved and cared for at Dog Peace.

My dog Kali is a 3 year old Doberman. She has been going with Jill twice a week for two years.
Dobermans are strong willed, energetic and very smart. I knew that socializing her with other dogs in a
safe play group with boundaries was essential. I have found that and more with Dog Peace.
Before coming to Dog Peace my dog was in an off-leash dog group. The dog walker recommended Jill to
me as a better choice for Kali. Suggesting a more controlled group of play with strong boundaries from
Jill, and she was right. We initially met Jill for a meet and greet with other dogs. I appreciated her
approach to see if it was a good match. I also appreciate the mindful way Kali was initially introduced to
the pack. She comes home more tired from play group because she has been exercising her brain as well
as her body, a super important aspect for my breed of dog.
I absolutely love that she has learned to play with every type of dog and personality but most
importantly learned to play with manners. Jill is the alpha of the pack and always has eyes on her pack. I
know this because I frequently get videos of my “party girl” playing within the group. She is consistently
monitoring the level of energy and play and keeps the crew in check. There is no free for all’s happening
and while the dogs are having fun, they are also learning to be a healthy pack at the same time.
The pickup and drop off is a huge benefit for working people. Jill keeps in close communication with me
and is very reliable. Kali is beyond excited to get in the van and head off for the day with her friends. It’s
the best feeling sending her off for a safe day of fun and she comes home exhausted, calm and happy.
Attending Dog Peace has been an important aspect of providing a balanced life for my Dobe and it’s
truly paid off. I couldn’t be happier with my dog’s behavior or the care and attention she receives. Jill
takes a lot of pride in her work and no doubt all the dogs love her! I would highly recommend her to any
dog owner and especially someone with a high energy working breed.
We have been sending Hannah our 3 year old German Shepherd, to dog peace play group for about a year. We were having a very challenging time with socializing Hannah with other dogs. Jill and Dave changed that immediately! She has a special knack with dogs. We have tried several other groups, with no success and were reluctant but wanted to give it one last try. What a difference a year has made with Hannah. She is much calmer on her walks when seeing other dogs and at home in general. Thank you Dog Peace you have provided our dog with peace!! We would highly recommend your play group.
Mango came to us from a shelter as a three month old, and met Jill and Dave, and their family, a week later. Following her interview, Mango began going to playgroup five days a week - and has continued with that schedule for the past three happy years. Instead of the life of solitary confinement she would otherwise experience, our dog is happy and well-adjusted. Still a young dog, she's rambunctious and playful, but not anxious or bored. She gets along well with other dogs, and clearly adores Jill and Dave. For our household with two full-time working adults, Dog Pace is a dream.
Dog Peace is unbelievably convenient and responsive. Their regular pick-up and drop-off schedules allow dog owners to leave for work confident that their pets will be well cared-for during the day. Jill keeps owners well-apprised of any issues, and encourages owners to let her know of a dog's special needs or circumstances. In her frequent texts, which often include pictures from playgroup, she shows a deep knowledge of and affection for each dog.
We feel that we are in a real partnership with Jill and Dave in the raising of our pup. Thank you Dog Peace!

My husband and I rescued a young beagle named Pringle who had not been properly socialized as a puppy. We invested a great deal of time working with trainers and teaching Pringle how to cope in new and unfamiliar situations. Her first response to anything that frightened her – people she didn’t know, plastic bags floating in the wind, even the waves in the ocean when we first took her to the beach - was to bark ferociously, hoping she could scare things away before they got too close. Pringle was a difficult and stressful dog to manage and we had to be very careful about who cared for her when we could not. We quickly learned that none of the day care facilities in Hull or Hingham were adequate, with Pringle being bitten by another dog at one center, worsening her fear issues.
One day in 2013, I was walking Pringle along Main Street in Hull. A woman was jogging toward us and she broke into a wide smile when she saw Pringle. The woman locked eyes with me, stopped running, and introduced herself from several feet away, all while dangling her hand so that Pringle could approach her if and when she wanted. It was Jill Orpen. We chatted while Jill patiently waited for Pringle to sniff and get used to her. I finally asked Jill how she knew how to act around my fearful dog. She explained that she runs a playgroup for dogs - Dog Peace - that encourages good behavior and teaches the dogs how to act around each other. This chance encounter felt like fate. I immediately booked a playgroup “try-out” for Pringle and we have been clients of Dog Peace ever since.
Jill and her husband Dave are now like second parents to Pringle. They took the time to understand her fears and reactions and have built exercises into her playgroup sessions so that Pringle has learned to be more confident. Because of the training that Jill and Dave have done with Pringle, she has learned how to share toys and food with other dogs, not to bark at every little thing that upsets her, and to check in with the human she’s with (not just me and my husband!) for guidance when she gets anxious. Pringle has become a more trusting, relaxed, balanced, and happy dog.
When my husband and I walk Pringle around Hull Village, we joke about how we can tell which houses are Dog Peace clients because these dogs don’t bark at the dogs and people who walk by their homes. Not only are they too tired from being at playgroup but Jill and Dave have taught them (and their owners) how to manage anxiety and barking. As a client for the past 10 years, I can’t recommend Dog Peace highly enough!

Our dog loves going to playgroup at dog peace. She has been going weekly since she was a puppy, going on 4 years now. She gets so excited when the bus comes! Jill is great with the dogs and is very knowledgeable about dog behavior. Highly recommend dog peace for any socialization needs for your dog!
Our two labs love Dog Peace! Jill and Dave take great care of them and our boys come home from playgroup happy and tired. One of the best things is how responsive and flexible Jill and Dave are to our sometimes hectic schedule. We would absolutely recommend Dog Peace.
